Corn Mazes Pumpkin Patches And The State Fair October In The Triangle
One of the best times of year in the Triangle is Fall. As the temperatures drop and the leaves fall from the trees you can count on a few things each year. One of the biggest in the area is the North Carolina State Fair and it starts today. This year’s marks a special milestone with the 150th Edition. Last year over 1 Million visitors made their way to the grounds. The Fair has always featured North Carolina’s Agriculture, with Livestock Competitions, Horse Shows, Cooking Contests and off course a Great Pumpkin Weigh Off. It’s always fun to walk through the Graham Building, Rabbit Barn or Poultry Pavilion to see the diversity of animals.
If you are looking for a little more action, visit the midway for rides, games and every imaginable fried food. There are rides for all ages with nearly 100 to choose from. If you really need more, head over to the Grandstand for the tractor pull or the demolition derby.
The State Fair is a great way to get to know what North Carolina offers outside the Triangle. “At the N.C. State Fair, our mission is to showcase and promote the state's agriculture, agribusiness, arts, crafts and culture through the annual agricultural fair.” There are multiple exhibit halls and pavilions that feature arts, crafts, gardening and much more.
